MTAC™ Riflescope 1-4x24mm is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 125.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick target acquisiton Recently purchased MTAC for my Sig AR 556 for a boar hunt. First morning out the illuminated reticle allowed target to be quickly acquired at about 90 yards in low light and on the run....1 shot. Excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great big game scope Think this scope is only suitable on an AR? I mounted mine on my Marlin 1895 .45-70. It's perfect for quick target acquisition, in low light, in heavy cover, when you are in danger of getting tusked by a big boar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy! I have been using this for 6 months & have never been so accurate. I can't seem to get the fastfire red dot low enough for close quarters, but once I figured out how much to compensate, I had no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MTAC Purchase My purchase of the MTAC riflescope was great, it was a perfect fit for my AR10, I have not taken it to the range yet to dial it in at distance just bore sighted. I will update after my visit to the range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear Optics, Exceptional quality. I bought this optic a couple of months ago. My co-workers were amazed of the price to quality compared to optics that are more expensive. I highly recommend this optic combo for any AR-15 set-up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fast scope to get on the target, very clear, Waited a long time for this scope to be offered at a sale price. A great scope for hunting and target shooting. Very fast to get on hogs that may be running, and great for target shooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as well Just as well built as the top brands. Sight picture and durability is on bar with the best. Only difference is battery life when compared. I'll continue to purchase Burris products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but lacking I bought this scope (1x-6x42mm) to use specifically with my day/night PVS14 adapter. I called tech support to confirm that the description says it will work with NV. I was told the first 2 settings are for NV so I placed my order. The scope itself is rugged and looks great. The clicks are solid and the reticle and optics are sharp and clear for the price point. A lack of simple user resettable turrets in the low profile model is an annoyance since the tall turret option does reset easily. The low profile version requires a pin and an all to complex procedure to reset. I was also disappointed in the lack of scope covers. My application wouldn't use any but I feel not including them is a little cheap on the part of Burris. My main issue is with the NV settings. The first and dimmest setting totally washes out in my PVS. It is way way brighter than it needs to be. When turned on the glow of the center reticle washes out everything even with my gain set very low. It should be much much dimmer to use with NV. Burris had a great idea here but it needs to be improved upon and more clearly marketed as I feel calling tech support shouldn't have been necessary if the item was described better. In any case even with the description the NV setting is useless. The reticle itself when turned off is thick enough and clear enough to use and I will do so in that manner bc the eyepiece of the scope fits very well using my adapter. I can only give it a 4 for these few reasons. As a nice scope for use on the right gun it's a winner but the NV brightness really needs improving b4 you can say it is NV compatible. There are other options for NV compatibility that don't have this issue. The plus Burris had was price and the shape of the ocular bell fits the adapter very well with a size 42 shim, pity....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent combination The perfect combination of sighting systems and mount for everything from 3 feet to 300 yards. Lets you concentrate on hitting your target instead of adjusting optics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good compromise between a red dot and a scope! I was looking for a scope for a "field" rifle-not a varmint rig...this scope is a good compromise between a red dot and a medium range scope...CQB to 300-400yards....

Hello Burris - looking to buy the Mtac 4x24 to mount on my AR 10. My question - a few of the online retailers state this scope has a selectable 3MOA or 8 MOA reticle. Yet when I call to get more details they don't know the answer. Help please!

Asked by: gah5188
The FastFire III is available in 3 MOA or 8 MOA, however the unit that is packaged in the combo kit will be 3 MOA, there is no option to select 8 MOA for the combo.

Does the MTAC/PEPR/Fastfire 3 combo come with smooth top rings for the PEPR in case I decide to not keep the Fastfire on it? And, do you guys plan on adding the Ballistic AR reticle to the Ballistic Tools program sometime soon? It would be really nice!

Asked by: Stevo
The subtensions are identical to the Ballistic CQ. Until we get the site updated, using that reticle in Ballistics tools will output the same values. The combo packages should come with the smooth tops in the box.

As stupid a question as this may be, is there an accessory or add on piece i can get that could increase the zoom of this scope? Something like a snap to the side magnifier or something similar?

Can I purchase caps for this scope? I just bought it and it didn't come with them.

Asked by: Steve C
I have flip up Butler Creek caps for this scope. Objective is cover 31, 50.7mm, part no 30310. Eyepiece (Ocular) is cover 17, 42.5mm, part no. 20170. Don't mix up cover numbers of the objective with those of the eyepiece. They are different even for the same diameter. These parts will fit snugly. The eyepiece has the red flip up lever, the objective does not.

I have a question regarding the illumination. Is there a "battery save" mode? As in, an "on/off" between brightness settings, or a motion sensor to shut it off when idle, and turn it on when ready to use? Thank you,

There is a small dot between each illumination setting, this dot is an intermittent off or 'battery save' mode.

Will the Burris fast fire mount to the top and still be useable?

Asked by: Nate6446
You may have to use our Scope Tube FastFire mount in order to use the optic, as the tall turrets will not allow you to see the target. If using the Scope Tube mount, you'll want to cant the FastFire 45-degrees or so to get a full sight picture.

Being a magnified optic, the MTAC cannot co-witness for two reasons: 1. The ocular bell is positioned such that it would be impossible to use a rear sight while the optic is mounted, it is impossible to 'co-witness' with only the front sight. 2. Above ~1.5~1.75x, you will not be able to see the front sight in your field of view meaning there will be nothing to co-witness with.
