Handgun Scope 3-12x32mm is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great scope I bought the scope 5 years ago, I mounted it on my 460 S&W. Handles the recoil great.
Date published: 2014-10-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best revolver scope for big guns I have to be honest, I like Nikon when it comes to scopes. But unfortunately Nikons pistol scopes did not impress me. I did extensive research on all pistol scopes. The Burris 2x-7-32 plex. Was definitely what I wanted mounted on my Ruger Super Redhawk 44mag. The scope can withstand the massive recoil from your bigger caliber guns ad still hold zero. Plus it comes pretty dang close as far as matching the stainless color of your revolvers. Thank you Burris for a great scope for heavy duty revolvers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought handgun scope for my contender. I can't shoulder a weapon anymore so I am now hunting with a handgun. I needed a scope that can handle the recoil yet be easy to use and this Burris has answered the question. Easy to install and zeroed in quickly. Using the gun to hunt deer, 300 Blackout on Contender frame with a 10 in barrel. Shoots great and look for many more deer to make my season bright.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pistol Scope I bought this scope last year. Mounted it on a Ruger Super Redhawk firing 45 Colt/ 454 Casull. This scope has seen well over 500rds in that time and not one malfunction. The sight picture in this scope is very bright and clear. As in all Long Eye Relief Scope there is a limit to the magnification that can be used while holding the Pistol at Arm Length. I normal shoot with it at 2.5 power which I find works well to 50 yards. I recommend this scope for anyone looking for a scope to mount on a large bore revolver. It will stand up to a 454 Casull it should hold up to anything.
Date published: 2017-08-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2x pistol scope I bought one for my 500 smith wesson and it works great,so I bought another one for my 44 mag hunter.
Date published: 2014-10-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Scope for the Money Since I read various reviews stating that their Burris 2-7X Ballistic Plex Posi-Lock was blurry right out of the box I want to say that I was looking for that as soon as I mounted mine but it’s crystal clear. At 2 power or 7 power, looking at something 20 yards away or 200 yards away (on a cloudy day as it is today) all the lines in the bark of the trees are clear and well defined. I am impressed with the clarity and like it better than my previous Bushnell 2 power scope. I do agree that once the power exceeds 3 it doesn’t have enough eye relief for a handgun. That doesn’t bother me as I had planned on hunting (deer) with it set on 2 power (3 at the most, depending on the terrain) and only using the 7 power to look ‘over yonder’ if I couldn’t make something out that could be a deer or just a stump or a boulder. If you are planning on mounting this on a high powered handgun with the intention of using the higher magnifications for long distance shooting this scope won’t work for you. I have it on my Magnum Research BFR .454 Casull and I don’t want to be pulling the trigger without my arms fully extended, but at the higher magnifications in order to see anything through it you have to hold it much farther back to your face (OK for scouting, not OK for recoil). It didn’t come with lens caps, like my Bushnell did, but I called Customer Service and they sent me a pair. For what it’s worth I used the Burris Signature Zee rings to mount it, and I love the idea of the inserts and will likely use these rings for all my future scope mounts. For the price I love it. Leupold doesn’t have handgun scopes with a ballistic plex reticle so they weren’t an option for me. If they did I may have gone with one of theirs, but since they didn’t I saved $150 or so and I’m very happy with the Burris.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handgunning Whitetails with Burris 2X7 My Fifth Whitetail from the Southern Black Hills area. All taken with a Smith and Wesson Performance Center 629 44 mag and Burris 2X7 Scope and projecting a Hornady 200 grain XTP. I used an Extinguisher Call sounding Doe Bleats and Rutting Grunts to bring within 60 yards. I had a quartering shot, it a little high but after a short 20 yard sprint was down. The year before I took a much larger 4 pointer at just under 50 yards using the Smith and Wesson Performance Center 629 Topped with the Burris 2X7, he went down just where he stood. I reload a 200 grain bullet with max H110, I shoot 500 to 600 rounds a year prior to the November Season with these Hunting loads, the Burris 2X7 takes all the punishment and holds it Zero! The Burris 2X& make my 69 year old eyes seam like 29. I will be back at it again in 2018!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NICE GLASS I have been a Burris handgun scope user for over 20 years. They are the only scope I put on my pistols. I have never had an issue with one of these scopes. They are always nice and clear and bright. I have had them on 22's to 44 Mags. Never a failure or problem. I highly recommend these scopes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mounted on my.460 smith & wesson performance center handgun with Burris signature rings. Bore sighted it at the fifty yard bench. Fired two shots to get it in the bullseye. Evey shot after that. I could not keep it zeroed it was all over the place. Very disappointed especially when deer season was two weeks away. I'll be shipping it back for warranty work. I may get it back in six to eight weeks. I should of spent a couple of hundred more an went with a Leopold, then at least the .460 would have been going to the U.P. of Michigan on this hunting trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scout rifle optic Great on Savage Scout 7.76X39. Crystal clear opticall the way to X12. Adjustable objective a bit to stretch to reach as a Scout rifle optic, but scope works very well. 3X12 power perfect! Really like this scope...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the Best Hand Gun Scopes out there. I rated it as a 4/5 stars, It is a good scope, probably the best out there but I think there is room for improvement in some areas. The Scope on 12 power you really need to stay still with a very movement because the there is little room for any movement or your site of view is gone, When you drop down it power it is way better, This has improved over earlier models but still not great. The 3X12 is missing the Posi Lock feature which I have never had movement in my scope but it would love the insurance if it did. The Turrets are Ok, they move and click Ok but when you get to the end of the up/down or right/left it gets tight and you need a coin. They had target knobs at one time and I wish they still made them but at the current 1/8 MOA not 1/2" MOA, But overall the scope is good, Best option out there for now with the highest magnification. With some improvement is could be great !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old Thompson center contender I just mounted this 3×-12× pistol scope on my 1977 Thompson Center Contender. The fit and size is perfect. I do not plan on shooting past 175 yards and I can see this is a perfect companion for my gun. The scope has lots of adjustment, the glass is crystal clear, quality construction built. Everything one would expect from Burris

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am an avid hunter. after being injured in Iraq, I took up handgun hunting as I now only have one arm and I am blind in the opposite eye. I hunt with a T/C Encore chambered in .325 win short mag. The Burris 3x12 scope has worked flawlessly and has helped me take Bison, elk, and deer. It has held up to the substantial recoil. My only wish would be to have more eye relief at higher magnification.I regularly practice with this out to 400 yards, where I can keep an 8 inch group with a pistol. awesome gun, awesome scope!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surplus Mauser I have mounted this scope on my M24/47 8mm rifle with great result. I am using the Brass Stacker LER mount and this combo really extends the range of my old surplus battle rifle. I am making consistent hits on steel targets at 300 and 400 yards. Great quality glass!

I’ve sent it to Burris for repair or replacement .. still waiting ... I like Burris scopes, the quality of the glass is excellent and they hold up well to recoil... this one missed quality control .. I’ll continue using Burris . All my other Burris scopes get 5 stars !!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor field of view in Burris 2x-7x handgun scope I am disappointed in magnifications greater than 3 power because of the field of view. Magnification powers of 4 to 7 have little use in hunting situations. While Burris is a good company and makes quality products, I would have been better off with a lower fixed power scope like their 2x scope. Burris should either fix this problem or stop marketing the 2x-7x as a handgun scope.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Had a problem with the eyepiece I bought this brand new in the box. When I opened it up and tried to adjust the eyepiece to focus on the retical it wouldn't move. I noticed a lot of exposed threads and assumed it had been backed all the way out and was stuck there. Not wanting to force it, I sent it back to Burris for repair or replacement. I'll update this rating based on the results. I currently own 3 other Burris optics and they are stellar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clear glass, durable, easy to use I have 6 of these, in 3x12 and 2x7. Each one had served me well. I have the 3x12 BP's on my longer range XP100's. After running the velocity of the specific handgun, I use the Burris Ballistic program and get my drops on the ballistic lines. Record them on a card, go shoot at those distances to verify and then hunt. Great scope. Never had one fail.

T/C .35 Whellen with Weaver rail. Considing your 200299 scope. A ) What rings do you recommend, will the 420083 low rings work? B ) Heavy recoil, need 18" of eye relief, what power can I go up to? Also is there a chart for magnification as to relief?

Asked by: Dan Wipper
Hello, There is not an actual chart that documents the eye relief and magnification but in general, the higher power you go, the worse eye relief gets. To remedy this, when you mount the scope and set eye relief, and reticle focus, do so at the highest available power. That way when you dial down, it will only get more forgiving instead of the opposite. The low rings could work, but I would go with the medium to be safe. There is a chance the low will not offer enough clearance. Additional measurement of your rifle would be very beneficial.
