Rated 5 out of 5 by DPrievo from Amazing glass! I own a handful of Burris scopes. This one is one of my favorites. I put this on my .30-06 for my long range Western Elk hunt but still used it back home in Pennsylvania for whitetails. Crisp, clean, amazing low light and no distortion. A++ Burris. Good job with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Guy_western_contours from Confidence to 1260 yards I'm always reluctant to talk something up if I haven't had a chance to put it through the rigors and abuse of several hunts. With 200 rounds fired at long range school with DR Long Range Concepts and hundreds more keeping my LR skills fresh for chasing hogs and going into rifle deer season, my RT has taken plenty of abuse, baggage handlers, a couple slips off the shoulder, a fall I was sure pulled me out of zero, all the banging in the UTV and truck. Still money, zero and dial ups. I can honestly say I have never settled into a scope and felt the same at 100 yards as I do past 1000 yards. The glass, focus and the SCR 2 (mil) and I'm 960 yards on a 3" target without a second thought, confidently and repeatedly.
Burris RT series for the win!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tk3g from Perfect mid level precision optic I love my rt15 I have hits on prarie dogs out to 300 yards on my AR15. It's on my precision 22lr now and it rocks! Love the reticle, the turrets click nice and the zoom is crazy smooth!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dave A from Nice quality and glass, great reticle, no shade Really I will give this a 4.5 for no sun shade or covers in the box. As long as you focus the reticle to your eyes you will appreciate its fine lines when target shooting. I put this on a CZ 457 and it is a fun combination. I find the reticle useful between 8 and 15x, whereas lower powers are good for finding a target or really close targets. Parallax easily focuses inside of 25 yards. I bought my unit for quite a bit less than MSRP making it a good buy.

What scope rings do I use on my Sako S20 in 300 rim mag, at what height should the rings be
Use the penny stack method. Each penny is 0.0598” (1.55 mm)
(Half the tube diameter+ (no of pennies x 1.55)) / 25.4
My RT-15 sits on 7 Pennies to clear the bells and covers.
15 (30mm tube) + (7X1.55) = 25.85 mm
25.85 / 25.4 = 1.018” or 25.85 mm minimum scope height
It seems like a long answer.
But now two ring lines seem to coordinate “ring height” to actual size.
Not all “medium” rings are 0.92” height. Not all “tall” are 1.10” height.
Like there is no industry standard.

I have a new RT 5-25. I am looking for how I am supposed to get my scope zeroed. Read the manual and it only talks about removing the turret and resetting the zero stop once you have it zeroed. Is it a matter of just dialing the turrets for initial zero?
You zero the scope with the turrets like a traditional scope, then you can follow the zero stop procedure. But before that, you adjust POI using the turrets.

I own several burris scopes ( eliminator 3 in 4x16 , and 2 veracity 4x20and 5x25 love them . i am looking at the RT-25 5x25x56 for my 224 valkrie for long range bench shooting . any thoughts ?
That would be a great combo! I've actually talked to a couple other customers who have the RT-25 on a .224 and they're really enjoying it. These guys were big into coyote hunting and said the holdovers were extremely helpful as well as the FFP.

RT-15 Just in from Midway, windage and elevation knobs seem insanely tight right out of the box. Almost afraid that I will break something trying to turn them. Is there a process or adjustment that needs made prior to use?
The RT-25 features locking turrets. You have to pull the elevation ring upwards before you can turn it. Same with the windage ring.

Would 2-3 inches of flexible tubing about 1mm smaller than diameter of objective & secured with a hose clamp work as a sun shade. We shoot at rodents on the east side of the property looking west in late PM & don't need sun glare on lens.
That sound like a field expedient solution that is worth trying. I'd give it a shot.

After adjusting elevation and sideways adjustments How do I zero the adjustment caps?
Re-Setting the Knobs to “0”:
Once your scope is sighted-in, you can reset
knob to “0” with these simple steps:
1. Use the 1.5mm hex wrench supplied with the scope to loosen the three (3) set screws located just under the top of the cap.
2. Pull up to remove the turret cap. Under the cap is the Zero Click Stop ring with three additional set screws. Loosen these screws with the 1.5mm hex wrench. Loosen the screws enough so that the collar turns freely. Rotate the ring clockwise until it stops. Snug the
set screws. Do not overtighten. Your Zero Click
stop has now been set.
3. Replace the turret cap, align the “0” with the
index mark and snug the three set screws.
NOTE: When securing the set screws on turret
caps, make them snug but do not over tighten.
