Handgun Scope 2-7x32mm is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burris Handgun Scope Compared with similar scopes at the same store, the Burris is noticeably brighter and has a wider field. The others were like looking down a tube and eye position was difficult to achieve. The Burris gave an eyepiece-filling view that was much easier to maintain. The quality of image was much better and easily worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hunting with the Handgun Wide field of view. Good clarity. Excellent eye relief. The Burris 2x and my Super Redhawk 44 were made for each other. I've hunted hog, deer and coyote out at the ranch with several different handguns and scopes over the past several years. This setup is by far the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought handgun scope for my contender. I can't shoulder a weapon anymore so I am now hunting with a handgun. I needed a scope that can handle the recoil yet be easy to use and this Burris has answered the question. Easy to install and zeroed in quickly. Using the gun to hunt deer, 300 Blackout on Contender frame with a 10 in barrel. Shoots great and look for many more deer to make my season bright.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Scope for the Money Since I read various reviews stating that their Burris 2-7X Ballistic Plex Posi-Lock was blurry right out of the box I want to say that I was looking for that as soon as I mounted mine but it’s crystal clear. At 2 power or 7 power, looking at something 20 yards away or 200 yards away (on a cloudy day as it is today) all the lines in the bark of the trees are clear and well defined. I am impressed with the clarity and like it better than my previous Bushnell 2 power scope. I do agree that once the power exceeds 3 it doesn’t have enough eye relief for a handgun. That doesn’t bother me as I had planned on hunting (deer) with it set on 2 power (3 at the most, depending on the terrain) and only using the 7 power to look ‘over yonder’ if I couldn’t make something out that could be a deer or just a stump or a boulder. If you are planning on mounting this on a high powered handgun with the intention of using the higher magnifications for long distance shooting this scope won’t work for you. I have it on my Magnum Research BFR .454 Casull and I don’t want to be pulling the trigger without my arms fully extended, but at the higher magnifications in order to see anything through it you have to hold it much farther back to your face (OK for scouting, not OK for recoil). It didn’t come with lens caps, like my Bushnell did, but I called Customer Service and they sent me a pair. For what it’s worth I used the Burris Signature Zee rings to mount it, and I love the idea of the inserts and will likely use these rings for all my future scope mounts. For the price I love it. Leupold doesn’t have handgun scopes with a ballistic plex reticle so they weren’t an option for me. If they did I may have gone with one of theirs, but since they didn’t I saved $150 or so and I’m very happy with the Burris.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NICE GLASS I have been a Burris handgun scope user for over 20 years. They are the only scope I put on my pistols. I have never had an issue with one of these scopes. They are always nice and clear and bright. I have had them on 22's to 44 Mags. Never a failure or problem. I highly recommend these scopes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mounted on my.460 smith & wesson performance center handgun with Burris signature rings. Bore sighted it at the fifty yard bench. Fired two shots to get it in the bullseye. Evey shot after that. I could not keep it zeroed it was all over the place. Very disappointed especially when deer season was two weeks away. I'll be shipping it back for warranty work. I may get it back in six to eight weeks. I should of spent a couple of hundred more an went with a Leopold, then at least the .460 would have been going to the U.P. of Michigan on this hunting trip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the Best Hand Gun Scopes out there. I rated it as a 4/5 stars, It is a good scope, probably the best out there but I think there is room for improvement in some areas. The Scope on 12 power you really need to stay still with a very movement because the there is little room for any movement or your site of view is gone, When you drop down it power it is way better, This has improved over earlier models but still not great. The 3X12 is missing the Posi Lock feature which I have never had movement in my scope but it would love the insurance if it did. The Turrets are Ok, they move and click Ok but when you get to the end of the up/down or right/left it gets tight and you need a coin. They had target knobs at one time and I wish they still made them but at the current 1/8 MOA not 1/2" MOA, But overall the scope is good, Best option out there for now with the highest magnification. With some improvement is could be great !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old Thompson center contender I just mounted this 3×-12× pistol scope on my 1977 Thompson Center Contender. The fit and size is perfect. I do not plan on shooting past 175 yards and I can see this is a perfect companion for my gun. The scope has lots of adjustment, the glass is crystal clear, quality construction built. Everything one would expect from Burris

The power ring is stuck it won't let me fine tune it to zero and when I get close u t does not hold zero. So hopefully they fix it I will update this review when I get the scope back which will be in about 6 weeks.

Date published: 2015-12-17
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor field of view in Burris 2x-7x handgun scope I am disappointed in magnifications greater than 3 power because of the field of view. Magnification powers of 4 to 7 have little use in hunting situations. While Burris is a good company and makes quality products, I would have been better off with a lower fixed power scope like their 2x scope. Burris should either fix this problem or stop marketing the 2x-7x as a handgun scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eye Relief The eye relief is very good and is able to hold the gun to the side when hunting,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As a scout scope I bought this product a couple of days ago to use a scout scope on my M1A Socom, and I am impressed! Coupled with the AR PEPR mount I get great eye relief, reasonable magnification, super clear glass, and a ballistic reticle. No other optic provides me with all these features, and I will be buying from Burris again!
Date published: 2017-02-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surplus Mauser I have mounted this scope on my M24/47 8mm rifle with great result. I am using the Brass Stacker LER mount and this combo really extends the range of my old surplus battle rifle. I am making consistent hits on steel targets at 300 and 400 yards. Great quality glass!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purchase of new Burris Handgun Scope Model 200298 I purchased this particular scope after reading various reviews on available handgun scopes for a Magnum 44 revolver. I must say to date I have had no problems and am very happy with the price, clarity and variable performance of this optic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality scope I recently purchased the scope to mount on a hunting pistol. The overall brightness & clarity is readily obvious when you pick the scope up. Although I have yet to use it on the pistol, I don't anticipate any issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is a replacement for a defective scope. The first scope withstood 30 shots from a Ruger Blackhak 44 rem mag. I didn't get a chance to sight in the pistol yet . Hope the replacement is better than the first one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Confused, Not Repaired I sent my Burris 2 1/2x-7X to Burris Warranty Repair because after 10 years of using it, I took it out of the case one day and was not able to bring the sight picture back closer than 12 inches from my eye to sight it in. It appears as though you were looking at it backwards. I just received it back and it states that it was re-centered, recoiled, and fog tested. SCOPE IS AN LER OR LONG EYE RELIEF USED FOR SCOUT MOUNT OR PISTOL APPLICATIONS. Okay, I'm aware of that however, something changed and you can no longer bring the sight picture closer than about 12 inches from your eye and have any clarity. Something changed. This was my fathers scope mounted on a TC 223, I have fired it so many times on so many different occasions. Something changed in the ability to bring the sight picture closer for seated/supported firing than holding it out a foot away at the firing table. Very happy with the turn around time, however not so happy with the turn around result they did not correct the problem with the sight picture. My ratings on this product are from the first 10 years of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I replaced my Burris Scout Scope I replaced my Burris Scout Scope with this one because of the higher magnification and it works great. I have a much better view of my target now and I'm glad they came out with this more powerful model.

Asked by: Adam Peterson
We do not offer a handgun scope with both nickle finish *and* a ballistic plex reticle. #200298 is Nickel finish with a Plex reticle. #200279 would be Matte black with a Ballistic Plex reticle.

The posi lock is simply a set screw under a cap. Remove the cap, and loosen the posi lock with a screwdriver. Then, once you're all set and zeroed in, tighten the posi lock and replace the cap.
